Chinese Medicine Treatment
Chinese medicine treatment seeks to restore the natural balance within the body. Chinese medicine provides a natural way to regain your health and well-being. We seek to balance these energies between the internal body organs and the external elements of earth, fire, water, wood, and metal essential for good health.
What is Chinese Medicine ?
Traditional Chinese medicine emerges in ancient China, with the use of acupuncture to treat injuries and the theory of Yin-Yang and Five Elements. Chinese medicine is a system of medicine that focuses on promoting health and the treatment of disease through an understanding of the body’s energy cycles and the flow of Qi (Chi), regulated by organs, meridians, and bodily systems. Focusing on the cycle of energy and balance within the body, Chinese medicine helps treat disease and illness. This holistic approach is a perfect complement to conventional Western treatment.
Traditional Chinese Medicine includes Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Auricular acupuncture. Zhu’s Scalp Acupuncture, Rejuvenating/Cosmetic Acupuncture, moxibustion, Tuina, cupping, and Preventive Qigong, etc.

Therapies and Treatments
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a natural healing system that originated in China and dates back thousands of years. The basic premise behind acupuncture is that the body has an energy force called chi or qi that flows through and regulates the body in ways that aid in preventing or curing illness. Acupuncturists open up blocked channels through which chi can flow by inserting thin needles into certain points on the body.
Chinese Herbs
Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has evolved over thousands of years. TCM practitioners use various mind and body practices (such as acupuncture and tai chi) as well as herbal products to address health problems.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine. It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures as early as 3000 BC. It is a method of creating a vacuum in the patient’s skin to dispel stagnation, thereby improving qi flow. It helps with pain, inflammation, respiratory conditions like asthma, bronchitis, congestion, gastrointestinal disorders, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Massage Therapy
Our massage therapy program is another alternative service we provide. While our needles can work deeper into the body, certain meridians and channels are so superficial to the surface that massage therapy is the best alternative for draining or releasing these muscles. Our massages are based on Tui Na principles that coincide with acupuncture theory and application.
Aesthetic Services
Here at Empire Medicine & Rehabilitation, we also like to offer an array of aesthetic treatments from facials, to facial gua sha, chemical peels, body wraps, etc. Our products & services change with the seasons to create long-lasting effects so please inquire with our office to obtain more information on what seasonal services we have in store for you!
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional form of physical therapy that involves burning dried herb moxa on the body. The herbs are burned, and the smoke they create travels through your skin to heat the tissue in a small area. Warmth helps reduce stubborn muscle tension and soreness by increasing circulation which allows more blood flow to the affected area. Moxibustion is believed to stimulate the function of Qi and blood, facilitate the circulation of blood, remove pain and eliminate stagnation.
Gua-Sha
Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese technique in which the skin is rubbed vigorously using a smooth, round object. It’s believed to detoxify and promote healing by improving blood circulation. The Gua Sha works by boosting collagen production and sloughing off dead skin cells. After using Gua Sha on your back, it helps to relieve muscle tension and stiffness, soothes sore joints and muscles, and increases circulation to allow toxins to be eliminated from your body.
